An act of defiance and unity shone out as Boston Bruins fans sung an emotional national anthem Wednesday.
As the city begins to recover from the devastating acts of Monday after the bombings at the Boston Marathon, the people of the city united on the Bank Garden to show an act of defiance against those who caused the attack.
What started out as a slow rendition of ‘Star Spangled Banner’, it turned into an emotional and heartfelt rendition of the national anthem, in which 17,000 Bostonians joined together to drown out the speaker system, in one of the most iconic moments in the sport.
Boston would go on to lose the game in a shootout to Buffalo, but the result was not the important matter on the night, as the city and people start to move on from the actions of Monday.
