Celtics slip to seventh loss in their last nine games.
The Minnesota Timberwolves took advantage of a depleted Boston Celtics team to secure a 110-100 win on Monday night.
Nikola Pekovic finished with a season-high 29 points, while Andrei Kirilenko added 17 points as the pair secured a 62-38 advantage from points scored inside the paint.
Paul Pierce sat out of the game with an ankle injury, which left the Celtics reserves struggling to pick up a much needed win as Kevin Garnett also remains sidelined.
Avery Bradley top-scored with 19 points, while there was some strong contributions from the bench but unfortunately for coach Doc Rivers it wasn’t enough to threaten the Timberwolves.
Minnesota now head to Milwaukee to take on the Bucks, while the Celtics will be eyeing a strong performance at the TD Garden against the Detroit Pistons.
