Grizzlies still in the mix for third sport in the Western Conference.
The Memphis Grizzlies sealed their 10th consecutive home win on Saturday night, when they overcame the Boston Celtics 110-106 at the FedExForum.
Despite the absence of injured center Marc Gasol, the Grizzlies had a huge effort from reserve guard Jerryd Bayless who finished with 30 points, with seven of the eight players to feature ending the game in double scoring figures.
The Celtics had 26 points from Paul Pierce, but they couldn’t quite get the job done without injured duo Kevin Garnett and Courtney Lee.
Boston stay seventh in the East, and despite slipping to their fourth straight loss they have a comfortable cushion over those chasing them for a play-off spot.
The Grizzlies are in Washington on Monday while the Celtics face Eastern rivals the New York Knicks on Tuesday.
