Virgil Hunter has insisted that Andre Ward would give Carl Froch the “beating of his life” if the pair met in the ring for a second time later this year.

Ward has been inactive for a prolonged period due to promotional issues, but with a new deal in place with Roc Nation and rumours that he is back in the gym training, he may well be preparing for a return to the ring in the not too distant future.
Meanwhile, the WBA have ordered a rematch between the American and former foe Froch with the governing body keen to get both men out in action as soon as possible.
However, Froch is currently sidelined with an elbow injury and isn’t expected to make a return until the summer. The 36-year-old recently suggested that he would dictate terms of the rematch and wants Ward to come over to England to fight him.
As expected Ward wasn’t impressed and disagreed, claiming that Froch would be dictating nothing in negotiations and that he would welcome the chance to beat him again.
Hunter is confident that his charge would do so, and was clearly in bullish mood as he insisted that Ward would “destroy” Froch and would give him the “worst beating of his life”.
With the war of words intensifying between the two camps, it all adds up to make it an interesting clash if the pair do meet again.
