Provided that both men win, promoter Eddie Hearn has already secured a bout between the pair in London on December 12.
Whyte famously defeated Joshua when they were both amateurs, and their rivalry in the professional ranks has continued to gather momentum in recent months.
If Thursday’s press conference is anything to go by, the build-up to their showdown is likely to be highly entertaining although both fighters will have their focus firmly fixed on the next opponent standing in their way.
Whyte insists that he will deal with Minto in emphatic fashion tomorrow night, and has already promised that he knock Joshua out when they meet later in the year.
