Ahead of his bout with Denis Douglin in Liverpool this weekend, George Groves discusses his future and continues to push for a third fight with Carl Froch.
Groves is the mandatory challenger for Anthony Dirrell’s WBC title and he is expecting to find out more about when the fight will take place on December 15.
While the Londoner is focused on his test this weekend as Douglin was full of confidence in their press conference on Thursday, he also discussed the possibility of fighting Froch for a third time.
Although their first meeting was controversial given the early stoppage, Groves believes that Froch was also lucky in their second fight as he was well ahead on points before the defending champion landed one of the best punches of his career.
Groves still believes that he can beat Froch, although it is highly unlikely that the 37-year-old will give him another opportunity at his IBF and WBA titles.
Meanwhile, Groves also left the door open to another fight with James DeGale as the pair continue on their journeys towards world titles. Provided both win on Saturday night, they will expect to fight for their respective belts early in 2015 and a mega-fight between the pair has been touted for next summer.
