The 42-year-old was leaving the Belasco Theater in LA when he was asked for his thoughts on being called out by both Shane Mosley and Roy Jones Jr.
Both veterans have insisted that they were ready to fight the ‘Golden Boy’ if they ever returned to the ring, and De La Hoya himself conceded that he thinks about a comeback every day.
Given that the legendary fighter hasn’t fought since being stopped by Manny Pacquiao in 2008, there are many fans and experts that would be very cautious about seeing him back in the ring at all.
However, they would certainly not want to see him against ‘GGG’ who has left a trail of destruction behind him after winning all 33 of his professional fights with 30 of those coming by way of knockout.
“If I ever come back and I think about it every day, I’ll fight ‘GGG’,” De La Hoya said as shown in the TMZ video below.
De La Hoya would be well advised to not look at that fight, but a clash with one of his former foes would certainly be an intriguing idea if he was serious about making a return to the ring.
