His bout with Wladimir Klitschko has already been pushed back from the original October 24 date after the heavyweight champion suffered a calf injury during training camp.
While he has since made a full recovery and is back training ahead of the fight later this month, it seems as though Fury has thrown caution to the wind and is continuing with his pre-fight antics.
After dressing up as Batman in a recent press conference, the challenger has arguably taken it a little too far with his watermelon prank. Although it’s a solid effort from the 27-year-old, suffering a cut or any damage at this late stage would undoubtedly have put the night in doubt again.
Nevertheless, it appears as though he has escaped injury and will relish the opportunity to sit with Klitschko again in fight week and continue to rile the Ukrainian.
The WBA, WBO and IBF champion has insisted that he believes Fury has ‘mental issues’, as reported by The Daily Mail, after a recent rant, but it remains to be seen whether or not he can successfully defend his titles against a fighter that is expected to cause him the most problems in many years.
Fury’s ability to switch to a southpaw stance along with his reach and height advantage will be tests that Klitschko will have to pass in order to hold on to his belts, but he has experience and power to his advantage and will hope to make it count.
