Petr Cech’s Premier League debut for Arsenal was a nightmare, but he has just reminded everyone why he is regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the world.
The Chelsea legend, who left Stamford Bridge for the Emirates Stadium earlier this summer, made two howlers a fortnight ago, as Arsenal began the 2015-16 league campaign with a 2-0 home defeat to West Ham United.
However, normal service was resumed late in the first half of tonight’s game with Liverpool when Cech displayed his super-human powers to keep out a goal-bound effort from Christian Benteke.
Liverpool have been the much better side so far, hitting the woodwork twice, but, thanks to Cech’s brilliance, it remains 0-0 at the break.
