Morgan, who represented Great Britain at the 2014 Winter Olympics on Sochi, launched of a massive kicker and completed four off-axis flips and five full rotations in the mega trick.
The trick one full flip and half a rotation more than the previous record trick, a triple cork 1620, landed by Japanese star Yuji Kadano in last month’s US Open slopestyle event according to the BBC.
“So stoked,” Morgan told the Red Bull website.
“I’ve been thinking about this for so long. It’s such a relief to have it done.”
The 26-year-old’s hand drag on the landing will leave some to question the legitimacy of the record, however there’s no doubt the move was ridiculously impressive.
It’s not the first time Morgan has set a snowboarding record after he became the first person to land a triple backside rodeo in 2011.
