Aussie skipper still has tough choices to make in the batting line-up.
Australia captain Michael Clarke has been discussing the visitors’ possible batting line-up for the first Test with India.
Clarke’s side will play four Tests on the subcontinent, although the skipper is still not 100 per cent sure as to what his team will be come the opening match.
“I think Ed (Cowan), like Davey Warner, had a really good summer, through the Australian summer and put their hand up against, you know, the number one test team in the world,” Clarke said in his press conference before flying out to India.
“So yeah look I think it’s a really positive sign that we’ve got so many options in our squad. Obviously Shane needs to come back into the line-up somewhere, like I’ve said though, it’s a lot different now that Watto (Shane Watson) is not bowling.

“As an all-rounder I think he walks into any team, as a batsman there is a much bigger pool of players. So we need to work out what our best batting line-up is, that compliments the team and we’ll go from there.”
“There’s areas of my game that I need to continue to work hard on and improve, especially in the sub-continent, to be able to perform consistently, but it’s a little bit different I guess going back as captain for the first time.
