Irving was in sensational form against the defending champions, putting teammate LeBron James in the background as he put up a career-high 57 points.
While he was just as key in overtime having scored 11 points to push the Cavs to the win, what made it more impressive was that it came against some solid defence from the likes of Tony Parker and Danny Green.
Parker had 31 points for the Spurs, but even that wasn’t enough to stop Irving as he put on a one-man performance that will fill highlight reels for some time.
However, the best and most important play of the game came with just 03.1 seconds remaining on the clock at the end of the fourth quarter with the Cavs trailing 107-110.
LeBron found Irving with the inbounds pass, and the 22-year-old made no mistake as he drilled it from downtown to tie the scores up.
If Irving can take this unstoppable level of performance into the playoffs, the Cavaliers just got a lot more scarier…
