Knicks move back to second in the Eastern Conference.
A strong first-half showing from the New York Knicks ensured they never lost the lead against the Charlotte Bobcats, eventually coming out 111-102 winners.
J.R. Smith led all scorers again with 37 points off the bench, while Carmelo Anthony had 13 first-quarter points in his 32 for the game, as well as 11 rebounds on 11-for-28 shooting.
Smith becomes the first player in Knicks history to come off the bench and score 30 or more points in three consecutive games as he looks impressive out on the court.
The Knicks move to 45-26 for the season with their seventh straight win, while the Bobcats remain stuck to the bottom of the standings in the East.
Gerald Henderson went for 35 points, but it wasn’t enough for the stricken Bobcats who travel to Philadelphia to take on the 76ers on Saturday. Meanwhile, the Knicks host the Boston Celtics on Sunday.
