Chelsea overcame a lacklustre Rubin Kazan side in their UEFA Europa League match at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea beat Rubin Kazan in the UEFA Europa League thanks to a Fernando Torres brace sandwiching a Victor Moses effort, but will be concerned by the fact that their Russian opponents grabbed a crucial away goal through Bebras Natcho’s penalty.
The match began brilliantly for the Blues, who took an early lead when Torres bundled home David Luiz’s long ball upon sixteen minutes. Victor Moses doubled the West London club’s advantage a few minutes later with a powerful finish, and Chelsea appeared to be plain sailing.
John Terry handled in the box to hand Rubin Kazan a penalty though, and Natcho dispatched the spot kick impressively to rather take the gloss off of proceedings for Chelsea.
Fernando Torres again scored in the second half to restore the Rafa Benitez’s side’s two goal cushion, and that was how the match finished.
