Jeremie Boga is one of 34 Chelsea players out on loan, and any Stamford Bridge scouts keeping their eye on the 18-year-old would have been impressed with the manner of his maiden professional goal.
The French midfielder, spending this season with Rennes, cleverly knocked the ball around a Reims defender and calmly slid the ball under the goalkeeper in this evening’s 2-2 draw in Ligue 1.

As well as it being Boga’s first goal for Rennes, it was his first start in the league since his summer arrival. His previous seven appearances had come as a substitute and had totalled only 139 minutes.
The midfielder was in Chelsea’s squad for the final game of their Premier League title-winning campaign against Sunderland last season, but was an unused substitute and is a long way away from the first team.
But, if he continues to score goals like this, he has more chance of returning to London and making an impact than many of the other talented youngsters that the Blues have allowed to slip through their net.
