After a particularly aggressive foul from John Terry in the area – that somehow didn’t warrant at least a yellow card – Berahino picked himself up to take the spot-kick himself.
Thibaut Courtois went the right way but couldn’t stop the England international from scoring his 14th Premier League goal of the season, his 20th in all competitions and his second of the night.
It now looks increasingly unlikely, but if Mourinho’s side manage to get the three points tonight they will need just one more victory, on the final day of the season, to reach the 90-point mark.
It’s a feat that hasn’t been achieved in almost six seasons, since Manchester United’s title romp in 2008/09.
