Hossa makes the difference in Blackhawks win.
Marian Hossa proved to be the game-winner as the Chicago Blackhawks edged out the Minnesota Wild 1-0 on Tuesday night.
Hossa took advantage of a Wild turnover and scored his 14th goal of the season late into the second period, as the Blackhawks sealed the win at the Xcel Energy Center.
Chicago will also owe a debt of gratitude to goal-tender Ray Emery, who stopped 20 shots to secure his third shut-out in his last five starts which improves his season record to 15-1-0.
It was the Blackhawks’ fifth win in six games, and leaves them well clear at the top of the Central Division. The team was also boosted by Patrick Sharp’s comeback, after he returned to the ice after a 14-game absence due to a shoulder injury.
