The 26-year-old already has his next fight lined up as he takes on Gary ‘Spike’ O’Sullivan at the O2 in London on December 12, but he was certainly keen to shake off any ring rust this time round after eight months out.
Eubank Jr had his opponent in all sorts of trouble in the first round after Jeter felt his power, but the American was able to climb off the canvas and make it out for the second round.
However, he didn’t last much longer as Eubank Jr delivered a crushing combination of blows that all found their target, forcing referee Howard Foster to step in and stop the fight.
Although the crowd in attendance made their displeasure known given the mismatch and the speed with which the bout ended, they would have been left impressed with Eubank Jr’s power in particular.
Nevertheless, the real test comes on December 12 with O’Sullivan equally as heavy-handed and quite the showman, and it promises to be an intriguing clash with promoter Eddie Hearn revealing in his post-fight interview that it will be a final eliminator for the WBA world title.
