The Clippers take 2-0 series lead after 93-91 win over Grizzlies.
With just a second remaining on the clock, Chris Paul showed exactly why he is regarded as one of the top players in the game, as he banked the game-winner to seal a 93-91 victory for the Los Angeles Clippers in Game 2 against the Memphis Grizzlies.
Paul finished with a team-high 24 points and nine assists, while Blake Griffin (21) and Jamal Crawford (15) were the only other players to finish in double scoring figures for the Clippers.
Crawford scored 10 straight points in the second quarter, check out the video below to watch his vital run:
Memphis were led by point guard Mike Conley who finished with 28 points, and despite the best efforts of Marc Gasol, it wasn’t enough to prevent the Grizzlies from slipping further behind in the series.
The bench effect was a significant factor for Vinny Del Negro, as the Clippers reserves outscored their opponents 30-11. For the second consecutive game they also out-rebounded their rivals, going 47-23 compared to 40-38 in Game 1.
The Grizzlies are at home in Game 3 on Thursday, and will be desperate to get on the scoreboard to avoid falling further behind. As for the Clippers, it is just the second time in franchise history that they have won the first two games of a play-off series.
