Reports emerged over the weekend that Dutchman had agreement with Milan.
Botafogo star Clarence Seedorf scored a superb goal in the 3-2 win over Vasco da Gama, after speculation over the weekend suggested he was close to a return to AC Milan.
It was the 37-year-old’s fourth goal of the season as he helped the club secure their third win in the last four games, and it was another clever finish as he continues to roll back the years.
However, the goal came after reports emerged in Italy on the weekend that the Milan legend had signed a contract with his former club to take over as coach.
According to the Corriere della Sera, as reported by Football Italia, the veteran midfielder signed a deal back in December last year but needed to sort the financial details of the move before it was confirmed.
However, it was explained to owner Silvio Berlusconi that the operation of buying him out of his contract with Botafogo coupled with his wages and staff would have cost the Rossoneri €15m.
As a result, Berlusconi pulled the plug on the move and Seedorf remained in Brazil where he continues to light up the league with goals like the one in the video below:
