Former Real Madrid, Inter Milan and AC Milan star is sent off in slightly mysterious circumstances.
In over 800 games for the Ajax, Sampdoria, Real Madrid, Inter Milan and AC Milan, Dutch midfielder Clarence Seedorf avoided being sent-off.
But the 36-year-old’s impeccable record ended this weekend, when he was dismissed for current club, Brazilian outfit Botafogo, after a mysterious altercation with the referee.
Sadly, the Portuguese speaker at fanatix towers has recent departed, so we’ve been reduced to guesswork.
But it looks to us as if Seedorf was ordered to leave the pitch (having been substituted) by the referee on the side nearest him and needlessly picked up a second booking for deciding to leave the long way round.
What a disappointing way to end the run! We’d much have preferred a Joey Barton-style rampage!
