Monaco youngster delighted to finish as top scorer.AS Monaco winger James Rodriguez was delighted to win the Golden Boot award for finishing as the top scorer at this summer’s World Cup, and has been recorded celebrating his achievement yesterday.
The 23-year-old was one of the surprise stars of the tournament, putting in some outstanding displays for Colombia to score six goals despite only reaching the quarter-finals of the tournament.
With the final on last night, Rodriguez watched as Germany star Thomas Mueller and Argentina forward Lionel Messi were the two most realistic contenders to take the prize, but with neither managing to get on the scoresheet, the youngster had his own reasons to celebrate at the final whistle of Germany’s 1-0 victory.
