Watch MLS highlights of Colorado Rapids against San Jose Earthquakes, who put on an impressive show for new coach Mark Watson.
Colorado Rapids were beaten by San Jose Earthquakes in this Major League Soccer game, with a poor start and ill discipline ultimately to blame for their home loss.
San Jose Earthquakes began the game looking to impress new coach Mark Watson, and took the lead after eleven minutes through Steven Lenhart.
When Rapids winger Atiba Harris was sent off shortly afterwards for a dreadful tackle, it looked as if everything was going to plan for Watson and his side, and the Earthquakes doubled their lead just after half time through Sam Cronin.
That prompted a double substitution from Rapids coach Oscar Pareja, and it almost paid immediate dividends when Nathan Sturgis scored to put his team back in the game.
The Earthquakes then shut up shop though, and managed to hold on for all three points.
