Hull started off the better, and could have taken the lead earlier on, however, Dame N’Doye had seemingly left his shooting boots at home.
The rest of the first half passed quietly, with neither side really looking like scoring. But just six minutes into the second half, N’Doye atoned for his earlier miss with some tenacious work coming into the box – a move he capped off with a fine finish under the goalkeeper.
Hull suddenly found themselves in the ascendency, with Tom Huddlestone controlling proceedings from the middle of the park. Here, Palace defender Scott Dann helps him look even better by misjudging the England international’s movement.
Palace looked to have equalised late in the game, but Yaya Sanogo’s header was chalked off for being offside. Palace had cause to feel hard done by.
But in the dying minutes, Dame N’Doye capped off a fantastic afternoon for himself by slotting in a cool finish. Have Hull given themselves a chance of survival, or is it all a false dawn against a team that looked to already be on their holidays?
