America’s Team believe Romo is the player to build Championship team around
Calvin Jones of ESPN.com has reported this morning that the Dallas Cowboys are looking to lock down Quarterback Tony Romo to a long-term contract.

Despite never winning a playoff game with Romo calling the shots, Dallas VP Stephen Jones believe Romo is the guy to bring them to the next level.
“Tony is a key piece of what we’re about going forward,” Jones said on Tuesday.
“We’re certainly going to be looking at his situation (in) time. We’ve historically (extended contracts) with quarterbacks for the Dallas Cowboys ahead of time.”
If Dallas want solidity at the QB position in the short-term, then the 32 year-old gives them that reassurance, but he doesn’t give the team a player capable of winning them a championship.
Whilst putting up good numbers and a reliable QB, the former undrafted free agent struggles when the pressure is on and has only won one playoff game in his career, which just adds to his label within the NFL as the ultimate choke artist.
If the Cowboys can structure his contract to be more cap friendly, then they can build a championship team around him, much like the New England Patriots did with a young Tom Brady in the early 2000’s.
Despite the fact that the three-time Pro Bowler has shown flashes of brilliance and indicated that he is capable of leading a team to a Superbowl victory, there are many skeptics out there who believe he just doesn’t have the mental attributes to produce when it matters most, much like this example against the Seahawks in the playoffs:
