Top-flight title holders prove too strong for Barnsley in the Cup.
Barnsley head coach David Flitcroft admitted that Premier League champions Manchester City were just too good for his Championship outfit following their 5-0 thrashing in the FA Cup at the Etihad stadium on Saturday.
City made it through to the semi-finals of the FA Cup thanks to a brilliant hat-trick either side of the break from Argentina international front man Carlos Tevez, while there were also goals from Aleksandar Kolarov and David Silva to complete the rout.
“On that performance if they are the second best team in the country at this minute then I would not like to have played United today because they were, they are on form and they were up for it,” said Flitcroft in his post-match press conference – watchable in the video below.
