North Melbourne will go to the AFL tribunal to challenge Brent Harvey’s one-match suspension in an attempt to make the veteran available to play in the Kangaroos’ preliminary final against Sydney on Friday.
Harvey was hit with one-game rough conduct ban by the AFL’s match review panel on Monday for a high contact incident on Geelong captain Joel Selwood in last Friday’s six-point win over the Cats at the MCG.
Selwood was forced from the field under the blood rule after Harvey’s hit opened a cut above his eye.
The 36-year-old’s poor previous record and subsequent carry-over points meant he couldn’t accept an early guilty-plea for a lower sanction, and if the club are unsuccessful in its attempt to challenge the ban, Harvey will miss the Kangaroos’ first preliminary final in seven years.
Selwood will go to the tribunal on Tuesday night to back Harvey, but do you think he should get off?
