Improbable comeback from the Nuggets ensure they extend winning streak.
A late rally from the Denver Nuggets ensured that they extended their winning streak to 14 games, eventually overcoming the Philadelphia 76ers 101-100.
Cory Brewer had a game-high 29 points, including three free throws with just 2.1 seconds left, as the Nuggets rallied from 5 points down with just 14 seconds left to beat the 76ers.
In what was a perfect display of being able to win when not playing particularly well, Denver now have more wins than both the Los Angeles Clippers and Memphis Grizzlies, and will look to take third spot in the Western Conference.
It was tough on Philadelphia who did well to restrict their opponents in the paint, an area in which the Nuggets have scored heavily this season.
However, despite Damien Wilkins leading every starter into double scoring figures, it wasn’t enough for Doug Collins’ men to hang on for the win.
They will hope for better luck against the Sacramento Kings on Sunday, while Denver will look to make it 15 straight wins against the Kings on Saturday.
