Rose returns to Chicago and thrills fans with glimpses of his former self…
Chicago Bulls and Team USA point guard Derrick Rose has a point to prove this summer, and he is looking in good form ahead of the FIBA World Cup.
The 25-year-old has played in just 10 games over the past two NBA seasons due to injuries, but he gave the fans at the United Center in Chicago on Saturday night something to cheer with glimpses of his play.
Rose is known for his explosive play and ability to attack the basket, and it was showcased no more so than in the video below as his crossover leads to time and space to kiss the lay-up off the glass and in for the two points.
While there is still a sense of nervousness surrounding the Bulls star given his problems with injuries in recent times, he has been in confident mood throughout training camp and insists that he is ready to make a serious return in the new season.
The Bulls have made impressive moves in the off-season with the signings of Pau Gasol and Nikola Mirotic, and with Rose potentially returning to the fold on a consistent basis, they will undoubtedly be a real threat for the NBA championship next year.
However, Rose’s more immediate focus will on the World Cup, and he will hope to continue to play solid minutes in order to regain both his game fitness and rhythm.
