Rose has been hit with serious knee injuries over the past three years and so his last taste of playoff basketball came back in 2012 when he played against the Philadelphia 76ers before suffering a torn ACL.
The former MVP has been in and out of the team this season as he also underwent a meniscectomy in February, but after making his comeback in the final five games of the regular season, he was able to get his rhythm and conditioning back up to scratch.
Nevertheless, the real test comes now as the Bulls face a long and hard road to the NBA Finals, and that starts against the Bucks who are expected to give them a tough time with their array of young talent.
Rose looked impressive early on as both teams put on an offensive show with a high-scoring first quarter, although there was a scare as he fell to the court awkwardly at one stage which left the United Center holding their collective breath as he got back up to his feet.
