Detroit Lions wide receiver Golden Tate was mauled on a punt return by Dallas Cowboys safety C.J. Spillman, but he instantly recovered from the pain and put the Lions in business.
Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford threw a quick pass to Tate, who broke free and ran to the end zone for a 51-yard touchdown catch to give the Lions a 7-0 lead over the Cowboys.
The Lions were heavy underdogs in this game, but their defense has remained a force while the offense has gotten off to a fast start.
