In the annals of NFL history there are plays that defy comprehension: The Wrong-Way Run, The Buttfumble, Wide Right. But this latest play by the Indianapolis Colts may have put those to shame.
Down six to the New England Patriots in the third quarter, Colts head coach Chuck Pagano sent the punting team out after a fourth down. But in a bizarre turn of events, he had the special teams players spread out in bizarre fashion all the way to the right side of the field, leaving just two players in the middle to snap and receive the ball.

Words do not do justice exactly what that was or what Pagano was thinking when he sent his players into the formation. But as everyone anticipated, the New England Patriots took advantage and quickly scored another touchdown to give them a 13-point lead.
The Colts lost the game 34-27 and a lot of self-respect as well. That crazy decision will live on in infamy for a long time.
