D-12 isn’t expecting a warm welcome when he heads to Orlando on Tuesday.
Having spent eight relatively unsuccessful years with the Magic chasing a first NBA championship, Dwight Howard returns to Orlando for the first time since his switch to the Los Angeles Lakers.
Otherwise known as ‘Superman’, D-12 irked his old franchise, fans and team-mates last week by suggesting that he played with a team “full of people that nobody wanted” during his time with the Magic.
Despite later clarifying his statement and dismissing notions he meant any disrespect, it did little to help his cause as he faces up to what will undoubtedly be a hostile reception considering the drawn-out circumstances he left in last off-season.
“My dad said I might as well get earplugs. I think it’ll be tough for everybody…I heard they have chants ready, so it should be interesting,” Howard told reporters according to NBA.com.
Magic CEO Alex Martins recently revealed he hasn’t spoken to the 27-year-old since his departure, while local radio stations have set up electronic billboards featuring countdowns with a tagline; “Til Dwight Leaves Us Again.”
However, the Orlando Sentinel have gone one further. Putting aside the terrible singing, this comedy video the Sentinel have made poking fun at Howard is quite amusing.
