Buffalo Bills surprised many by making the Florida State Quarterback the first QB taken in the draft.
Despite Geno Smith being considered the best Quarterback prospect in the 2013 Draft class, it was EJ Manuel who was selected as the first QB taken, after the Buffalo Bills picked him with the 15th overall selection.
It was something that had clearly rocked emotionally Manuel emotionally, as he broke down in tears during the on stage interview after he was selected.
The Buffalo Bills didn’t just surprise critics with the player they selected, but also the position. Having just acquired Kevin Kolb in a free agent move, many thought they may wait til at least the second round before making a move for a rookie Quarterback.
The fact that they reached up with their first round pick for the signal caller shows that they have a strong belief in the kid to perform well sooner rather than later.
