England’s skipper Alastair Cook has praised batsman Matt Prior for his match-saving 110 in the third Test against New Zealand.
A relieved Alastair Cook has acknowledged the resolute display by his batsmen to draw the final and deciding Test against New Zealand in Auckland.
Wicketkeeper Matt Prior scored an unbeaten 110 as he and Monty Panesar finished the day at the crease with England having just one wicket spare.
It was a thrilling end to a series in which the Black Caps proved they were far from pushovers and Cook admitted their hosts had the better of the three Tests.
By getting an unlikely draw in such dramatic style in New Zealand, England will have revived confidence going into the return series against the Kiwis in May and the upcoming Ashes series in the summer.
