Real Madrid secured the 2015 Turkish Airlines Euroleague title on Sunday night with a 78-59 victory over Olympiacos with Jaycee Carroll key off the bench.
In a shared effort from the Spaniards, Carroll was a key catalyst for them with 16 points off the bench as he was hot from the field just before half-time which saw Madrid open up a lead.
However, as they have done on many occasions previously, Olympiacos didn’t go quietly as they enjoyed a comeback to start the second half to cut the lead down to four. While the Greeks threatened to turn things around, Real Madrid produced a fight back of their own to once again take control.
Sergio Llull had 12 points, while Jonas Maciulis added nine points including some big shots from beyond the arc. Meanwhile, Andres Nocioni was named the MVP after he added 12 points in just over 22 minutes of action and brought great energy for his team.
As a result, on the same weekend that Barcelona secured the La Liga title, Madrid had at least some reason to celebrate as they took their place at the top of the European game and denied Olympiacos another famous comeback victory.
