The Hoops missed the opportunity to enhance Western Conference play-off chances.
FC Dallas came from two goals behind to salvage a point in a thrilling 2-2 draw with San Jose Earthquake on Saturday.
Two goals inside the opening 16 minutes put the Quakes in a commanding lead at the FC Dallas Stadium with forward Alan Gordon converting Cordell Cato’s cross from close range, before Steven Beitashour displayed excellent composure to control and finish after being found with a chipped pass by Rafael Baca.
The home side responded immediately through Blas Perez’s 10th goal of the season in the halved the arrears and they were level in the 69th minute when Michel tucked away a disputed penalty, awarded after the referee deemed Victor Bernardez had brought Perez down in the area.
And San Jose were lucky to escape with a share of the spoils after Bernardez and Justin Morrow were sent off late in the game but Dallas, who saw Kenny Cooper shown red, couldn’t take advantage.
