Lauren Silberman will take part in regional combine in bid to become NFL kicker.
On March 3rd, Lauren Silberman will become the first female to attend an NFL organised combine in a bid to be the first woman to be signed to an NFL roster.
The lifelong football player is attempting to switch sports and impress teams with her strong leg, as she can easily clear 60 yards, something that many of the current crop of kickers struggle to do consistently.
The problem regarding this is the woman’s safety in a game. As soon as one of her kicks are blocked, she becomes susceptible to being run over by a fully grown man three times her weight, which is not safe, and could seriously injure her.
While it would be interesting to see how she gets on against male kickers, it would be unlikely to see her signed up to an NFL roster anytime soon.
