Lowy stumbled backwards as he went to present Melbourne Victory manager Kevin Muscat with the A-League trophy and fell awkwardly onto the turf below.
Medics and officials rushed over to the 84-year-old, leaving the capacity AAMI Park stunned in silence.
Lowy was eventually brought to his feet and completed the formalities, handing the trophy over to Muscat following Victory’s dominant 3-0 win over its hated rivals.
“Mr Lowy received treatment from paramedics on the scene and was cleared of any serious injury,” an FFA spokesman told The Australian.
“He has soreness in the shoulder from the fall but is otherwise OK.”
