Gomez and Rossi find the net again as Viola stroll to win.
Fiorentina continued their impressive pre-season form with a crushing 7-0 win over Apollon Limassol, with Mario Gomez and Giuseppe Rossi getting on the score-sheet again.
Vincenzo Montella’s side appear to be gearing up for the new season perfectly as they continue to score goals and play impressive football, with new signings also integrating well.
Mario Gomez broke the deadlock less than a minute into the game with a solo effort, before goals from Manual Pasqual, Matos and Facundo Roncaglia made the game safe.
However, Rossi was not finished with his afternoon’s work and added a sensational strike before securing a brace with a late goal to take Fiorentina into Seventh Heaven.
Despite the favourable scoreline, Montella still believes his team have much to improve on, as he saw enough to suggest that their weaknesses would be exploited by Serie A sides.
“The team continues to take the initiative, but we need to improve a great deal in terms of balance when attacking,” said the Coach as reported by Football Italia.
“In Italy you can’t get away with anything, especially if you leave space for the counter-attacks.”
Meanwhile, aside from praising Rossi as he nears a fully recovery from devastating knee injuries over the past two years, Montella revealed that “it is just a matter of making it official” over the announcement that he has signed an extension to his current deal.
