Given the interest that has been building in the fight over the last six years, the respective promotional companies have agreed that a ‘world tour’ is not needed in this instance.
The fight undoubtedly sells itself as being the conclusion to the debate over who is the pound-for-pound king of boxing, with both Mayweather and Pacquiao wanting to claim the title.
Mayweather puts his unbeaten record on the line as he looks to move to 48-0, while Pacquiao has been selected by many as the man to finally inflict a loss on the American with the WBO, WBA and WBC titles all on the line.
Opinion is undoubtedly split on who will prevail, but what is clear is that it will be a fascinating clash between styles as the Filipino will look to press forward and attack in order to get his combinations off while the master of defense will sit back and look to pick his rival off.
Fireworks aren’t expected in LA on Wednesday given the nature of Pacquiao in particular, but it will certainly be a moment to savour for boxing fans to see the pair square off for the cameras ahead of their historic bout in Las Vegas.
The press conference will start at 1.30pm PT, 4.30pm ET and 8.30pm UK time on Wednesday 11 March.
