Former Liverpool star Djimi Traore isn’t renowned for his amazing goals, but this strike for Seattle Sounders is quite something.
Djimi Traore became something of a cult figure when playing for Liverpool.
He seemed constantly in danger of committing a critical mistake to lose his team the game, but as a backup player capable of playing in a variety of positions, he was not a bad option to have for the Anfield club.
After all, he won the UEFA Champions League title in 2005 with the Reds against AC Milan, in one of the most astonishing comebacks in the history of the competition.
After a dreadful first half in which he was partially responsible for Paolo Maldini’s opener as Liverpool conceded three, Traore followed it up with a brilliant performance in the second period – helping his side to a clean sheet with a vital clearance off the line.
He now plays for Seattle Sounders in the MLS, and scored this wonder strike in the CONCACAF Champions League against Mexican side Tigres de la UANL.
