Former Pakistan cricketer and Sunrisers Hyderabad bowling coach Waqar Younis says that spinners are the real match winners in the 2013 IPL.
Younis’ side Hyderabad lost their first home match of the season on Wednesday with a heavy 77-run defeat to league leaders Chennai Super Kings.
However, despite the loss the ex-Pakistani star believes that spin bowlers Amit Mishra and Thisara Perera are the stand-out performers for the franchise and that good spin bowling decides matches.
Between Mishra and Perera they have taken 32 wickets so far in the sixth version of the IPL and are fifth and seventh respectively in the Purple Cap standings for most dismissals.
