Clint Dempsey continued his brilliant start to the MLS season with two goals, as Seattle Sounders beat FC Dallas 3-2 on Saturday.
The former Fulham and Tottenham forward fired home the winner in the 85th minute but his first goal was far more memorable, as he crashed in a free kick from a full 30 yards. The effort rebounded off the underside of the crossbar and out but was correctly judged to have crossed the line.
The brace followed Dempsey’s hat-trick in the 4-4 draw with Portland last week.
