Ducks seal 12 consecutive home wins ahead of the visit of the Chicago Blackhawks.
The Anaheim Ducks sealed a 5-3 win over the San Jose Sharks on Monday night, marking a franchise record 12th straight home victory.
Francois Beauchemin scored twice, while there was a first ever NHL goal for rookie Emerson Etem as the Ducks routed to a 5-1 lead. Two goals in the third period for the Sharks made the game look closer than it really was.
Next up for the Ducks are the Chicago Blackhawks who are 24-2-3 for the season, and they will get a chance to end the second longest home winning streak in the NHL since the 2009/10 season.
The top two teams in the Western Conference are separated by just five points. While the Ducks are enjoying an incredible home run, the ‘Hawks have won their last three on the road and arrive in Anaheim in good spirits.
It all points toward a great showdown on Wednesday night at the Honda Center.
