Darren Bent’s goal sealed victory for Fulham against Stoke City, who were unlucky to lose after another impressive performance under Mark Hughes.
Fulham narrowly defeated Stoke City in the Barclays Premier League at Craven Cottage thanks to a single Darren Bent strike.
The Cottagers had previously been on a terrible run, losing four of their previous five matches, but finally got back to winning ways in the English top flight for the first time since the opening day of the season.
The game was a highly tense affair, with Fulham right back Sascha Riether having to make two goal line clearances, and the one goal margin ensuring each side was desperate to avoid error.
Stoke City will feel unlucky to have lost, having taken 16 shots to Fulham’s nine and enjoyed 56% of possession as their impressive stats under Mark Hughes continue.
However, their lack of a cutting edge came back to haunt them, with a deflected shot from Pajtim Kasami arriving in the path of substitute Bent.
A fine turn inside Robert Huth’s challenge left him with only the goal to beat, and he duly obliged.
