Turks in confident mood ahead of their second-leg showdown in Germany.
Galatasaray are more than capable of making it through to the quarter-finals of the Champions League when they take on high flying Bundesliga outfit Schalke 04 in the second leg of their last 16 showdown on Tuesday night, according to the Turkish champions’ head coach Fatih Terim.
The visitors could only manage a disappointing 1-1 draw in Istanbul in the first leg three weeks ago and will in all probability need to win in Germany to maintain their dream of becoming the first ever Turkish side to make it through to the quarters-finals of Europe’s premier club competition in the modern era.
“We know that we face a good opponent that deserves respect. But we are good team too with some experience in Europe and the Champions League and we have managed to turn some situations around and we know the seriousness of this situation,” said Terim.
Gala boast two European heavyweights in Didier Drogba and Wesley Sneijder but face a Schalke team who made the semi-final in 2010/11.
