Genoa climb out of the bottom three with a vital win.
When it mattered the Genoa players stepped up and performed, with a 4-1 victory over Pescara taking the side out of the relegation places in Serie A.
The home side were 2-0 up by 30 minutes through goals from Antonio Floro Flores and Marco Boriello.
Yet against the run of play the visitors got back in the tie with a strike from former Grifone forward Giuseppe Sculli.
However, Boriello continued his fine form of late by netting again in the second half, before Andrea Bertolacci secured the victory.
Defeat means Pescara are officially relegated, although it has looked likely for several weeks, whilst Genoa move up to 17th with an important three points.
