With Sunderland already playing overly aggressive defensive because of their 3-0 deficit, Sebastian Larsson lost the ball on an offsides flag, allowing Aston Villa captain Fabian Delph to bring the ball deep into Sunderland territory for a narrowly missed goal.
But Sunderland couldn’t capitalize and lost the ball again, allowing for an assist by Leandro Bacuna on a cross to kick it up for a header to Benteke – who easily landed it in on the top right corner to give the Villains a 4-0 lead.
Aston Villa will clearly jump ahead of Sunderland after their win today, but with Sunderland just one spot away from the relegation zone, could Sunderland find themselves in the bottom three with another loss?
