Greg Bird looks ahead for the Titans 2013 season.
Eager to put a season of off-field drama behind them, the Gold Coast Titans will start the 2013 season under new co-captain Greg Bird.
Financial problems plagued the Titans 2012 season and the distracted club finished a disappointing 11th.
On the field the Titans had trouble capitalising on attacking advantage behind their strong forward pack. This could prove an even bigger problem this season after losing Scott Prince to the Broncos and gaining human-wrecking-ball Dave ‘the Coal Train’ Taylor.
With the departure of Prince and the arrival of Taylor, the Titans forward pack looks bursting with talent but lacking in fire power. Aiden Sezer at 21-years-old is the most experienced of the Titans playmakers ahead of Jordan Rankin (15 NRL games), Beau Henry (10) or Albert Kelly (14).
If the young halves can keep up with their damaging forwards the Gold Coast team will be a dangerous prospect in 2013 but it will be a hard ask for such a young and inexperienced combination.
